Air NZ signs code-share with Air India to increase capacity
Air New Zealand has signed a code-share agreement with Air India in a bid to increase its air capacity from the country to various Indian cities. Through this agreement with Air India, which flies to Sydney and Melbourne, Air New Zealand will get additional access to a range of Indian cities, mainly Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai. The code-share agreement was signed at the International Air Transport Association annual meeting in Miami by Christopher Luxon, Chief Executive, Air New Zealand, and Rohit Nandan, Chairman and Managing Director, Air India. Luxon says, “the sheer size of India and its growing middle class makes it an aviation force that will positively impact international traffic flows. Close to 90,000 people currently travel between Indian and New Zealand every year and this number is only growing. The code-share agreement will provide greater choice and convenience for those travelling between our two countries in both directions.”
