Air Passenger Duty tax waiver for children under 16yrs

From March 1, 2016, the Air Passenger Duty (APD) Tax will no longer apply for young adults up to the age of 16 years, travelling in the Main Cabin (Economy Class) departing the UK. The UK Government recently announced the elimination of the Air Passenger Duty (APD) tax for children under the age of 12, travelling in the Main Cabin (Economy Class) flights departing the UK on or after May 1, 2015. Customers who have already paid the APD Tax for children under the age of 16, booked to depart the UK in the Main Cabin on or after March 1, 2016, are eligible for a refund. Customers who purchased tickets through American Airlines Reservations or via aa.com for travel exiting the UK on or after March 1, 2016, will be proactively refunded the APD tax.
