Outbound Travel Roadshow 2015 attended by over 1,200 Indian agents
The Outbound Travel Roadshow (OTR) for Europe, held from January 12-20, 2015 in New Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Ahmedabad, witnessed the attendance of over 1,200 travel agents from all over India. The event, organised by Sphere Travelmedia & Exhibitions, was first held in 2005, and aims to bring together major outbound players from the Indian travel trade and global sellers in several key metros of India, as per a release.
The objective of OTR 2015 was to serve as the ultimate business platform for representatives from tourism boards, tour operators, hotels and others to market their respective products to the Indian travel trade, the release states.
The event provided National Tourism Organisations (NTos) along with their key suppliers such as Destination Management Companies (DMCs), hotels and resorts, attractions and ground-handling agents under one roof in each of the four metros and to provide them with a business opportunity to interact with key buyers from the Indian travel trade.
Roberta Karnos, General Director, Amathus Travel, Croatia, said, “OTR is the soul of our marketing and sales to Indian market. During OTR, apart from the clients and friends we see every year, we have the opportunity to enrich our data base with more agents and possible clients.”
Speaking on the planning that went into managing OTR, Natalia Troshin, Tourismer, Czech Republic, said, “We took part in OTR for the first time in 2009. The preparation and organisation of the event was done on the highest level. The most important thing is that the tour operators who were invited to the workshops were cooperative.”
