66% Indian women tourists feel safe travelling in India
In a survey conducted by MakeMyTrip to analyse the behavior and needs of women-travellers in India, 66% Indian women travellers reported “feeling safe travelling in India”, as against just 49% last year. These women also strongly advocated for solo travel. 52% respondents said they have experienced solo-leisure travel (compared to 44% last year). Of these, 49% have travelled solo in India. Almost 8% respondents said they preferred to take solo trips over travelling with a group, friends, or family. When quizzed on whether they felt safe travelling in India or overseas, 93% women responded “It depends on the destination and not the country”. The survey findings reflect the increasing confidence and spirit of adventure in Indian women travellers.
