How popular airlines are responding to ticket refund, lost baggage and clueless staff


Minu Datta's recent home-bound journey to Chandigarh turned into a harrowing nightmare when her Go Air flight had to be diverted to Delhi due to some technical issue.

The flight landed there at 11.30 pm, half an hour later than it was supposed to reach the scheduled destination. Datta and her co-passengers found the Go Air counter almost empty and the staff clueless. After an hour long wait, the passengers were told the aircraft couldn't be flown and there were no others available. Hence, they would be driven to Chandigarh in a bus.

"We were given a rickety, non AC bus. It was chilly and extremely uncomfortable. One of my co-passengers was a cancer patient," said Datta who works as a corporate producer at Reliance Broadcast's Big FM radio station. The passengers never got a part refund, or even an apology, she added. Datta sourced the number of a top executive and texted him. She didn't get a reply.
