AIMED, IMA ink pact to promote Medical Tourism in India

As per a PTI report, to promote Medical Tourism, Association of Indian Medical Device Industry (AIMED) and Indian Medical Association (IMA) have recently inked an agreement under the 'Cure in India' initiative. The initiative also plans to promote usage of medical devices manufactured in India.

"This MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) will give a big push to manufacturing and innovation in the Indian medical device industry, while promoting Indian healthcare sector as a whole," said Rajiv Nath, Forum Coordinator, AIMED. "The initiative will also help reduce the country's huge import dependency in the medical device sector while encouraging exports," he added.
